Weave is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a way up and a way forward for children, young people, women, families and communities facing complex social situations. Operating in south Sydney since 2004, Weave’s range of programs are designed to help tackle issues related to poverty, drugs, alcohol and mental health, homelessness, domestic violence, family breakdown and isolation.
Yulang was been contracted by the Paul Ramsay Foundation to work with Weave over three years to end 2025 on a project in two parts:
For this work, Megan and Mark worked with our colleague Kenny Lawson.
In 2023, we reported to Weave the funding climate in which they operated, which is that government funders have made policy commitments such as Closing the Gap to grow the Aboriginal community-controlled sector. The NSW Department of Communities and Justice has also made a policy commitment that Aboriginal people’s service needs will be met, where possible, by Aboriginal organisations. In this climate, many philanthropic organisations will also move to support Aboriginal organisations.
